What is Recovery Like After a Deep Plane Facelift?
After your deep plane facelift surgery, you’ll recuperate at Dr. Albert’s office or the surgical center for about two hours before going home. Some patients elect to have a private duty nurse at their home or hotel overnight. If this isn’t an option, we recommend having a friend stay with you for the first few days to help as you begin your recovery process.
You will be scheduled to return within three days for a post-operative visit, which will give Dr. Albert the chance to make sure you’re recovering well and address any discomfort you may have. You’ll return again one week after your procedure so Dr. Albert can remove your sutures. Most deep plane facelift patients choose to return to their normal activities around this time.
After about a week and a half, your bruising and swelling should have reduced enough that you will begin to notice the final outcome of your procedure. Once you’ve fully recovered, you can expect to look like a younger version of yourself: familiar in appearance but rejuvenated in a natural-looking and attractive way.
Could Any Side Effects Occur After My Deep Plane Facelift?
After a deep plane facelift in NYC, like with any surgical procedure, there's a chance of side effects occurring, like hematoma formation needing quick attention, the chance of infections, skin slough, facial nerve injury affecting movement, possible numbness in the earlobe, pixie-ear deformity from tight skin, and rare instances of hair loss or first bite syndrome. However, consulting with Dr. Albert is crucial to address these concerns and ensure optimal outcomes. With his expertise and guidance, strategies can be implemented to minimize the risk of these side effects.
